WiFi calling allows you to make and receive calls, and text messages, using a WiFi network, with your existing Red Pocket phone number.
If you've got an Android device on the Red Pocket GSMT network, that has WiFi calling capabilities, then you may be able to take advantage of WiFi calling.
Note: Currently, Red Pocket does not offer WiFi calling on our other networks.
Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about WiFi calling:
Does WiFi calling use my Red Pocket voice minutes?
Yes. WiFi calls and texts are deducted at the same rate as regular calling and text messaging.
How do I know if my phone is capable of WiFi calling?
If your phone is capable of WiFi calling, it will have the setting on it.
This setting can typically be found in your Mobile Networks settings.
How do I set up WiFi calling on my Red Pocket account?
Simply contact customer service and request to have WiFi calling turned on for your account and supply your e911 address.
Customer service can be contacted at RedPocket.com via live chat in the bottom right corner, email at support@redpocket.com or by calling (712) 775-8777.
What is an e911 address?
In the United States, E911 (Enhanced 911) is support for wireless phone users who dial 911, the standard number for requesting help in an emergency. Since wireless users are often mobile, some sort of enhancement is needed to 911 service that allows the location of the user to be known to the call receiver.
Once my account is updated, how do I use WiFi calling?
All you have to do is enable it on your phone and set your preferences. Once enabled, whenever you have access to a WiFi network, your phone can switch to WiFi calling depending on your preferences.
Is WiFi calling different from VoLTE?
VoLTE stands for Voice over LTE. VoLTE calling allows you to make and receive calls using your LTE data, with your existing Red Pocket phone number. If you've got a VoLTE capable phone and are on the CDMA, GSMT or CDMAS networks, you may be able to use VoLTE with your Red Pocket service. Learn more about VoLTE here.
