Why do I run out of data even if I don't use it?

On some selected phones, applications do connect automatically to the internet to get regular updates and downloads without your knowing it. Even if you are not literally using the internet, the phone is. For example: Iphone applications like facebook, email, maps and games constantly connect if letf on, or if you are left logged in. These applications constantly get updates from the web. It would be best to turn off "Cellular Data" on your phone to save on data.
To turn cellular data off on your Iphone, go to Settings/General/Network, and switch Cellular Data to OFF. For other types of phones, please refer to your phones manual or manufacturer. | |
